Tile Materials at a Glance
Standard Resin
Lightweight, affordable, and the most common. Fine for casual play. Engraved faces hold up better than printed ones.
Ivory-Finish Resin
A cream-colored resin that mimics vintage bone tiles. Nicer look and feel than standard white plastic without the price jump.
Acrylic / Melamine
Heavier, denser, and more satisfying to handle. Casino-quality tiles used in serious play. Expect to pay more.
American Mahjong Replacement Tiles
Standard 166-tile replacement sets for American Mahjong. Compatible with most racks and pushers. Look for tiles around 1.25″ × 0.9″ — the size most American sets use.
Chinese Mahjong Replacement Tiles
144-tile sets for the traditional Chinese game. Usually sold without racks or accessories — great for replacing damaged tiles or getting a standalone set of tiles.
Acrylic & Melamine Tiles
Casino-grade acrylic and melamine tiles are heavier, more uniform, and more durable than standard resin. Preferred by serious players for their feel and click.
